This is a contemporary teenage family home located in an urban/ suburban coastal site.
The design provides a series of interweaving interior and exterior spaces at both levels offering varying sun orientations, shelter from winds, privacy from the beach and road and neighbouring dwellings.
The house is constructed with insulated masonry and suspended concrete to the upper level. Interior finishes are mono-chromatic with subtle changes in finish from solid plaster to fibrous plaster to lacquer, emphasising the shifting light and continuity of spaces. Stone paving inside and outside on the lower level gives way to timber on the upper level.
